Consular authentication is divided into the authentication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China or its authorized agency, and the authentication of foreign embassies and consulates in China. If the notarial certificates for studying abroad or going abroad for private purposes are sent abroad for use, the authentication of the consular organ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the authentication of foreign embassies and consulates should generally be handled (referred to as double authentication).

1、 The process of handling accreditation of embassies and consulates

Step 1

Some documents have been reviewed and certified by the CCPIT or local notary offices, and the CCPIT and notary offices have reviewed the authenticity of the seal or signature on the documents to be verified by the consul. After the review, the CCPIT and notary offices have issued a certificate or notarial certificate, and the certificate has the signature of the notary and the seal of the International Chamber of Commerce and notary offices.

Step 2

Send the document with the signature of the notary of the International Chamber of Commerce or the notary office to the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will certify the seal and signature of the Chamber of Commerce and the notary office, and sign on the certified document by the authorized person of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Note: if the document does not need to be sent to the embassy for authentication, it is called the Ministry of Foreign Affairs single authentication if the authentication is completed at this step. Some documents in some countries can be used after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs single authentication)

Step 3

After the documents are authenticated by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they are sent to embassies or consulates of various countries for authentication, and the seals and signatures of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are authenticated by the embassies of various countries. (This is called double authentication of the embassy)
