What is a Schengen visa? What are the current Schengen countries?

Schengen visa refers to the visa issued according to the Schengen Agreement.
This agreement was named after the signing of Schengen in Luxembourg in 1985, so Schengen is a local name of Luxembourg. The Schengen Agreement stipulates the single visa policy of member countries.
According to this agreement, visas issued by any Schengen Member State are also considered valid in all other Member States without the need to apply for another visa. The agreement stipulates that its member countries issue a uniform form of visa for short-term visitors, namely the Schengen visa. Once the applicant obtains a visa from a certain country, he/she can travel freely in all Schengen member countries during the period of validity and stay of the visa, but from the second country, he/she needs to report to the relevant local authorities within 3 days.
Schengen countries include Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland, Netherlands, Poland, Greece, Norway, Iceland, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland。
